Trackless
Vehicles Ltd. began operations in 1969 with development of a 4 wheel
drive, articulated all terrain vehicle named the Lobo. In 1973 the
vehicle was completely re-designed to incorporate a forward mounted cab,
4 cylinder water cooled engine and a front pto. The new tractor, labeled
the MT2 (municipal tractor, series 2) was a totally new concept for
municipal sidewalk snow removal due to it's ability to interchange front
mounted attachments. A public works department could plow snow with the
option of switching to a 51 inch wide snowblower when the snow became
too deep for plowing. When the winter season was over the unit could
then be utilized with a variety of front mounted mowers and sweepers.
In
years to follow, Trackless continued to improve the tractor design and
develop new attachments. Because Trackless wanted to ensure complete
quality control of both tractor and attachments, the decision was made
to produce everything possible in house. Steel fabrication equipment,
lathes, milling machines, welders, etc. were purchased and put into
production.
Today,
Trackless continues to produce all of the steel components. State of the
art machinery such as a laser cutter, CNC turning centres, CNC machining
centres, CNC vertical saws, CNC press brakes and welding robots
guarantee the accuracy and quality of fabrications such as ROPS cabs,
snowblower bodies and thousands of other parts required to construct the
MT and various attachments.
Trackless Quality
Trackless assembles the complete
tractor by utilizing an assembly line where each "assembly team
member" is responsible for not only their own quality but also must
sign off a quality control check sheet for the previous assembly
station. This ensures 100% quality workmanship. When a group of tractors
are complete each and every one is test driven and returned for final
inspection.
Attachments are fabricated, assembled
and inspected. Each attachment, after passing inspection, is mounted on
a MT tractor and run for 5 minutes before final inspection.
Trackless Technical
Support
In addition to delivering a quality
product, Trackless provides technical support and training materials.
When delivered an authorized Trackless representative provides start up
training. An extensive operator training video and manuals are delivered
with each tractor and factory direct technical support is available by
telephone, fax or e-mail.
Trackless also offers an extensive service school free of charge for any
customers who wish to enroll one or more of their service technicians.
